Hillhead 2014

Hillhead is a completely unique event: a trade exhibition for quarry operators and other users of heavy machinery that is held within an actual quarry. The quarry in question provides the name for the event – Hillhead, located in Buxton right in the heart of the Pennine Hills. The show takes up 140,000m² of the quarry, giving a dynamic but logistically difficult setting for such a large outdoor event. EFS was contracted to supply and install our Temp-a-Path system in various locations for some of the exhibitors attending the show, ranging from 20m² to 200m².  The tough installation required lots of manoeuvring around the vast amounts of plant machinery that were being manipulated in to position for the show. With the total stock delivered by articulated lorry to the top of the quarry, EFS used smaller vehicles to take the necessary quantities to the final positions. The product was successfully deployed on the uneven terrain, with its versatility over contoured ground extremely evident. The Temp-a-Path was used to created safe pedestrian access both to and from the stands and also around some of the items on display. EFS Business Development Manager Jeremy Simpson said: “Hillhead is and event that truly showcases the versatility of the Temp-a-Path system. The nature of the location means that it would be almost impossible to use anything other than our lightweight modular system. The ability to transport Temp-a-Path in small vans and install it by hand and with no fixings makes it the perfect flooring solution for this show.”
