Lincoln Castle's enchanting Christmas Emporium, Saturday December 14th to Sunday 22nd December, is a spectacular Victorian inspired light show forming the centre of this magical event. Event Flooring Solutions was thrilled to be asked to supply its Temp-A-Path flooring system for the second time this year. The flooring is installed within the medieval walls of Lincoln Castle.
The event requires 3600sqm of Temp-A-Path to be deployed to safeguard the castle's grounds from the huge number of visitors. Temp-A-Path was selected due to its lightweight nature and the ability to install it within the confines of the medieval walls. With vehicle access being limited, it is essential that the flooring can be manoeuvred into situ by hand. Temp-A-Path was also selected due to its anti-slip properties; another essential factor given the Great British weather!
Mixing fairy story with local history and legend, the Christmas Emporium is a magical unfolding of newly imagined fairy tales, illuminating the Castle whilst discovering it anew. From Havelok the giant Viking hurling the huge stone which lands within the Castle walls, to Lucy, the 11th century Countess who ruled the lands, and the Dragonby legend, where a great dragon was turned to stone by a malevolent wizard. All are woven together in a festive fairy tale of visual storytelling to inspire and delight. The light show, repeated throughout the evening, is complimented by Christmas stalls, a cosy tipi bar, locally sourced food and drink and Santa himself.
"With Temp-A-Path already used at Lincoln Christmas Market, the product had proven itself time and time again and the organisers knew it would stand up to the heavy footfall! We supplied the flooring with geo-membrane to further protect the beautiful lawns. We were delighted to be asked to supply the event again, which is another knock out success for the city." Said Jeremy Simpson, EFS's Managing Director.
