EFS Europe kicked off its summer season at Holland Park in May for the prestigious, annual Holland Park Opera. Investec Opera Holland Park London is widely regarded as one of the most exciting, innovative and accomplished opera companies in the UK, with an extraordinary history of producing rarities, alongside popular favourites. Whether novice or aficionado, OHP has something to offer – and all taking place in one of the most beautiful covered spaces in the capital.
The summer season of opera is hosted in a temporary venue built alongside the ancient ruins of Holland House. To cater for the 1000 plus guests, EFS Europe supplied and installed 600m2 of Club Stub Back within the outdoor terraced area. The event carpet allowed the surface water from the May showers to drain beneath the carpet preventing a soggy top!
1,140m2 of EFS Europe's Poduim Flat Velour was also installed to all of the indoor seating areas within the auditorium as well as several other indoor areas, both front of house and backstage.

LAMMA - the UK's largest farm machinery and agricultural services show - returned to the East of England Showground in January 2018. Attracting over 40,000 visitors and 900 exhibitors.
EFS Europe has been a supplier to the shows' exhibitors for the last four years, providing its specialist flooring services for both indoor and outdoor exhibitions and demonstration stands.
EFS Europe's Temp-a-Path and Hex-Road products are easy to install solutions for pedestrian and vehicular use. Both products can be installed in detailed configurations, allowing exhibitors to create safe and unhindered access for visitors wishing to view their display equipment or services.
In addition, EFS's specialist ranges of exhibition carpet and artificial grass were utlised - perfect for adding detailed finishing touches to the stands and displays.
Jeremy Simpson, EFS's Business Development Manager said 'LAMMA is moving to the NEC next year, so this is the last year we will be supplying the show. It has been a privilege to work with the show organisers and the 40 plus businesses we have helped with their stands. It's a real shame that the high winds stopped play this year and the show had to be cancelled, especially given this is the last time LAMMA will be at the East of England Showground.'

The William Hill World Darts Championship is the largest and most prestigious darts tournament in the world, attracting sell-out crowds and a global TV audience of well over 10 million across its 19 days from 14 December to 1 January.
The West Hall in 'Ally Pally' has a capacity of 2,500 people per session, meaning that more than 50,000 enthusiastic and hard-partying darts fans will have punished its floors over the Christmas and New Year period. As such, this installation is a terrific test of both product and service quality.
Under the expert guidance of the in-house team at Alexandra Palace, the EFS Europe team worked through Tuesday 13th December and into the night, to have the Hall ready for when the doors opened and play commenced the following afternoon.
And, as has previously been the case, the Electric Blue Event Cord Carpet was chosen to match the branding of title sponsor William Hill, whose corporate colours also adorn the walls and stage within the iconic Victorian venue.
Commenting on what is an extremely important and 'bar-setting' installation for EFS Europe, Business Development Manager Jeremy Simpson said:
"Thanks to the PDC (Professional Darts Corporation) and major sponsors and broadcasters, darts is now one of the world's leading sporting attractions and the quality of event production at the William Hill World Championship is truly world class. EFS Europe is always proud to be chosen to play a role in what has become a legendary fixture in the Christmas and New Year calendar."
"It is a fantastic start to our 2018 business year and on behalf of the entire EFS Europe team, congratulations to Rob Cross on the performance of his life in this year's stunning Championship."

In the historic town of Bury St Edmunds, the Christmas Fayre is a focal part of the local festivities, and EFS Europe has been supplying temporary flooring for the event for the last four years.
Having expanded by over 30%, the organisers needed 2,500m2 of EFS Temp-a-Path™ plastic flooring to protect the city's Cathedral grounds and provide safe pedestrian access for the thousands of visitors.
100 miles north, EFS Europe also returned to the ancient city of Lincoln for its famous market held in the city's historic Castle & Castle Gardens. Attracting over 250,000 visitors, the organisers specified over 2,900m2 of EFS Temp-A-Path™to be installed within the grounds. Having started with just 11 stalls, the market now showcases more than 200 traders and a variety of cultural entertainment.
These winter events choose EFS Temp-A-Path™ due to its lightweight nature, and the fact that all the sites contain historic listed buildings. The ability to install the Temp-A-Path™ by hand allows the organisers to keep heavy plant machinery to a minimum, reducing the risk of damage to property, roads or footpaths. In both locations, Temp-A-Path™ is also used to protect grassed areas, reducing the cost of post-event clean up and maintenance.
Speaking about the projects, EFS Europe Business Development Manager Jeremy Simpson said:
"These events have become a regular feature on our own event calendar. The locations present their own unique challenges, but by using our EFS Temp-A-Path™ product the organisers have been able to grow in size without having to worry about how to protect the site surfaces."

With the new university semester looming, EFS Europe was on hand at Nottingham University's Clifton Campus to help with the influx of new students.
Major building work meant that access to some of the site's halls of residence was restricted. With hundreds of cars set to descend on the site to deliver the students and their belongings, EFS Europe installed 742m2 of its Hex-Road product to create a 248m long access road.
The Hex-Road was installed by a three-man team in just five hours, who created the road down the side of one of the University's rugby fields. The route was designed to keep traffic flowing in one single direction in order to minimise any on-site traffic build up.
EFS Europe Business Development Manager Jeremy Simpson said:
"This project is a great example of how quick it is to install our products. It also demonstrates how suitable the products are for tight locations that may not be able to cope with large trucks or machinery. Had the client used large sheets of traditional trackway then the peripheral impact would have been far greater."

EFS Europe returned to the Reading & Leeds Festivals this year to once again keep the artist and backstage areas clear and accessible.
Headlining the iconic festivals this year were Kasabian, Eminem, Blossoms, Liam Gallagher and Fatboy Slim.
EFS installed over 1,000m2 of its Temp-A-Path to create safe pedestrian access for artists and production staff. The product was deployed around the village of portakabins that are used as dressing rooms, and also to create clear access from those areas to the main stage.
In addition, the Reading site also used a further 100m2 of Temp-A-Path in and around the female toilet areas. EFS Europe also supplied and installed the carpets within all of the artist dressing rooms.
Both festivals have increased the use of EFS Europe's plastic flooring in the last three years, with the product's easy installation by hand giving it the ability to be retrospectively installed once all of the portakabins have been located in position.

EFS Europe was delighted to help with a wedding with a difference and make the great outdoors accessible for even ladies in heels! The Richardson family contacted us with a little problem… How to convert an arable field into a suitable venue for a series of teepees and their 200 plus guests? After the cornfield was harvested, and with just a week before the wedding, concerns were raised over the condition of the ground, which is when EFS stepped in! An access road was required to the teepees for the wedding guests, catering outlets, generators and toilet blocks. EFS installed their Hex Road, a heavy duty roadway ideal for instant access and car parking at events.
The second part of the brief was to provide a safe, pedestrian friendly, aesthetically pleasing area in front of the teepees for a designated guest area. After being rolled by the farmer, the field was partially covered with 30m x 10m of Temp-A-Path to the front of the teepees and catering outlets. Following installation of the Temp-A-Path, the client decided they wanted the area to resemble an English country garden lawn; EFS then laid their Gadsby 33m pile height Astroturf on top of the Temp-A-Path for a stunning finish. The client then sold on the Astroturf after the event – perfect recycling!

EFS Europe Ltd Manufactures 7000m2 of Specifically Designed Translucent Temp-A-Path for the British Transplant Games, Transforming one of Scotland's Largest Indoor Halls into a Stunning Function Room for the Game's Opening & Closing Ceremony
The 40th edition of the Westfield Health British Transplant Games was held in North Lanarkshire from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th July 2017 with over 1000 competitors taking part.
One of the main facilities being utilised for the "Games" was Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility (RRSF). During the "Games" the full size 3G sports pitch was transformed with EFS's specifically manufactured translucent Temp-A-Path and EFS's royal blue marquee-cord event carpet. The venue was then all set to host the opening ceremony and the celebration event bringing the games to a close. The Temp-A-Path was installed in just 7 hours with the carpet being laid in just 8!
"We did our research, tested some products and Temp-A-Path was the best things for us" said Jim Moffatt, NL Leisure's Business Partnership Manager. "We looked at hiring it, but decided to purchase it and we now have the ability to hire it out to other event organisers in Scotland. The decision to purchase Temp-A-Path has opened up a new market for NL leisure. The purchase of the flooring now allows us to offer both RRSF and its 8000 seated football stadium as new event destinations, transforming traditional sports venues into flexible spaces" he concluded.
The flooring is available for re-hire for many events that are held not only in the central area, but also throughout Scotland. NL Leisure and EFS are working in partnership to offer the flooring to event organisers, local authorities or anyone else who needs it installed by EFS's dedicated team!
EFS's translucent Temp-A-Path has been specifically designed to protect the ground for long periods of time without causing any yellowing or other surface damage to the turf or any artificial grass surfaces. NL Leisure opted for the translucent flooring product to ensure protection of any natural grass areas. Translucent Temp-A-Path is able to do this because of its special design which allows light, water and air to access the grounds underneath it. EFS's trials show that no adverse damage is caused to the grass for a minimum of 30 days.
Following the "Games" EFS staff prepared and removed the flooring, including the carpet, in just 8 hours. The carpet was taken away and recycled and Temp-A-Path stored at a custom built facility constructed on the grounds of RRSF.
EFS has put a dedicated, experienced team in place, in Scotland, ready to install and uplift the flooring, working as and when required by NL Leisure; meaning that going forward, Temp-A-Path is available throughout Scotland.

The organisers of the Ironman UK event in Bolton – now in its 13th year contacted EFS, once again, to provide a safe and secure transfer area from the swimming to cycling stages. Temp-A-Path was installed for this critical element of the event. Following a 2.4 mile open water swim the athletes leave the lake and transfer to their bikes for a 112 mile cycle ride followed by a full marathon! So it was vital that the transition area was made safe under foot when covered in water with athletes "sprinting" over it. Over 200m² of Temp-A-Path was installed by the team to create a safe and secure under foot surface from the lakeside to the transition area. This extreme sporting event attracted around 2000 athletes from around the globe. Frenchman, Cyril Viennot, won the race for the men whilst in the women's Lucy Gossage, 6 x Ironman champion won again. Jeremy Simpson – Business Development Manager of EFS commented: "With such a demanding high profile athletic event, we knew that it was vital for our product to stand up to the critical demands of the terrain and weather conditions. We were delighted to be involved and to see great performances from these talented athletes."
